Pengbo Cao

Pengbo pursued a doctoral degree with Prof. Dan Wall at the University of Wyoming and studied a fascinating cell-cell communication system in the soil-dwelling myxobacteria, where cells exchange their membrane components during physical interaction. This experience sparked his interest in studying bacterial behaviors and understanding their broad implications. In January 2019, Pengbo joined Prof. Marvin Whiteley’s lab as a Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow, focusing on studying bacterial behaviors in human infections. Beyond science, Pengbo enjoys hiking and playing tennis. He also finds joy in (scientific) sketching and illustration.
